People who say “business is business” aren’t the kind of people I do business with.
For years, I heard coaches and mentors say, “Stop getting attached—business is business.” But that never felt right to me.
As someone whose Human Design life’s work is gate 27, “The Nurturer,” I’ve struggled with boundaries and self-worth in business.
I constantly gave away my energy, time, and resources without asking for what I was worth. I poured myself into my clients, only to feel like it was never enough.
I became drained. I hit rock bottom. I wanted to quit.
I couldn’t understand why.
Why don’t people care as much as I do?Why do I feel depleted after pouring so much into others?
Eventually, I realized the problem wasn’t my care or my passion—it was the way I was taught to do business. Traditional strategies tell you to focus on the sale, keep emotions out of it, and protect yourself by not giving too much. But that felt like living a lie.
Here’s what I know now: Caring “too much” isn’t a weakness—it’s a strength. It’s planting seeds of good in the world. Doing what’s right. Leading with integrity.
It’s true that boundaries matter.
But they don’t mean you stop caring. Boundaries mean giving from a place of alignment, not depletion.
They mean showing up fully while still protecting your energy.
Sometimes, the impact you make in someone’s life lasts only for a season. You may never see the full bloom of the seeds you plant, but they can grow in ways you can’t predict.
The care and energy you give may stay with someone forever, shaping their path in ways you’ll never know.
When you lead with care and integrity, you attract the people and opportunities that align with you—the ones who value what you bring to the table and grow with you.
So, if you’ve ever been told to “stop caring too much” or that “business is just business,” let me remind you:You’re allowed to care. You’re allowed to lead with heart. You’re allowed to build a business that feels good.
Because business isn’t just business—it’s personal. It’s relationships. It’s legacy.
When you pour your energy into the right people and the right work, it will come back to you in ways you never imagined.
And for people like us, business is never just business—it’s about making an impact, building connections, and creating something meaningful.
That’s the kind of business I choose to do.
sending you so much love,
Bea Dallago
